City Guides: Auckland

Living in New Zealand, Wei Ting is currently in her second year of university. She studies Business, majoring in Human Resources Management and Marketing. Music is a big part of her life; she plays the harp, and teaches young children to play the harp in her spare time. Apart from music, she loves the outdoors. She describes herself as a girl who is "all about new experiences and getting to know our planet".

You're from New Zealand. Could you also give us some recommendations for where to shop, eat, drink and party there?

I love cafe hopping in New Zealand. I like the raw cafes and the healthier joints. Takapuna is a beautiful place in the summer! The beach is lovely and they have some cool cafes like "Jam", "Blunderbuss" (awesome pizza), "Bird on a wire", etc.

Matakana is really lovely too. There are so many places it's hard for me to recommend just one or two. day trips up north or to pretty wineries is always fun. Waiheke Island is worth a visit.

And also! THE SNOW! Mount Ruapehu is really popular (outside of Auckland)! I love road trips. Coromandel, Ohakune, Taupo, Rotorua are all worth going to.

Auckland City is where you'd go for partying and shopping. There's a cool bar called 1885 that I love. My friends and I party at Roxy when they have events on and it's always a good time.
