City guide: Milan

Camilla is the owner and designer of Be Convertible - a brand of functional, customizable and convertible leather bags. She lives in Milan and shares with us her favourite spots around the city.

Which neighbourhood in Milan do you live and why do you love it?

I live in two places in Milan, the first one is in the Chinese area "Paolo Sarpi" - a historical area where the Chinese immigrants started to migrate to Milan in the 1920s. This place is also inhabited by the Italian people and has an interesting mix of restaurants and shops all around.

The second place is my atelier at Via Molino delle Armi, 13 - a historical place at the center of Milan

What are your favourite shops/boutiques in Milan for fashion and accessories?

My favorite unconventional shop in Milan is: Rossana Orlandi (ask for Zaira she is the best!), Via Matteo Bandello, 14-16

The other is Wait and See, Via Santa Marta, 14

What inspired you to start Be Convertible?

Every woman needs timeless, long lasting products of high quality, rather than bags of ten different styles.
Thus my idea was creating bags for any occasion, any season - morning and night. Beloved, yet strikingly unique bags.

-Bar Jamaica dal 1911 Via Brera, 32
