City guide: Los Angeles
Izabella Tzenkova is a film producer who now lives in New York, but grew up in LA. In this interview, Izabella tells us what's fun for a first-time visit to the City of Angels.
You grew up in LA. But what would you recommend for a first-timer to the city?
In LA, a lot happens in people's homes, but it's also a very outdoorsy culture.
For scenery – take a hike up Temescal Canyon. The view of the ocean is amazing. And as cliched as this may be, a hike to the Hollywood sign is a must!
Also, I always recommend the Getty Museum in Bel-Air because of its beautiful views of LA and the amazing garden surrounding it.
Definitely take a stroll on the Sunset Strip.
For architecture – LA has some beautiful homes. Sign up for a tour that will take you around to see some of these famous works. One of my favourites is the Schindler House, which is also the Mac Foundation, in West Hollywood.
What about places to eat?
For a good drink, go to The Chateau Marmont. It is an institution and a great place for a drink. But be prepared, it can be quite hard to get into.
You should also Check out Rodeo Drive - I call it the vanity corner of the world, and I think you must at least visit once. Then, stop in for lunch or dinner at Il Pastaio.
