City Guide: Bangkok
Melody blogs about fashion, travel and lifestyle on her website, Missingavenue and on Instagram as @meowiie. She takes us to her favourite spots in Bangkok, a city she loves and can never get enough of.
What do you love about Bangkok?
Bangkok will always be my favourite travel destination. So much culture, arts, creativity going on, amazing eats, cheap thrills and one hell of a good time. I love that everything is in Bangkok with a dash of cheeky flirting like haggling prices and mixing around with the locals.
If you had a weekend in Bangkok, where would you...
Soul Food Mahanakorn in Thong Lor. One of my favourite restaurants.
Feeling like street food? Get yum mama, phad thai, pork skewers and coconut ice cream at Tipsamai.
On Lok Yun for Thai style breakfast at an old traditional coffeeshop.
Go to Pratunam market for street food in the morning - it is one of my favourite things to do.
The weekend markets – Chatuchak is at the top of my list.
In the evenings, make your way to Talad Rod Fai Market - it is a huge vintage flea market with hippies, bars, live rock and roll music and just a good time.

The Iron Fairies in Thonglor.

Siam Center - the visual merchandising and attention to detail put into every store is inspiring. The mall is full of Thai local designers that one should definitely check out.
Vintage Again & Again - this is one of my favorite vintage stores in Thong Lor in Bangkok stocking up great pieces from the 1960s and 70s.
