What kind of traveler are you?

I would say adventurous, yet luxurious. I love to explore, and I usually travel with my husband. When we travel, we enjoy driving around. We will always book a super luxurious place to stay at the end of the trip to reward ourselves.

What is your favourite destination?

Iceland! I love how I can go to places with an amazing views, without having to pay to enjoy them. I also enjoy the fact that we can appreciate these beautiful places in relative solitude, rather than have to jostle with other tourists for a photo. In Iceland, we can practically stop and snap photos of beautiful mountains and waterfalls anywhere, and everywhere. I spent 6 days there, and would love to go back!

What were some unique food and dishes you tried there?

Puffin meat, whale meat and skyr, a dairy product unique to Iceland, similar to yoghurt, but heavier.

What were some of the fun and memorable things you did in Iceland?

Viewing northern lights! We had to start at 9pm and chase the lights until 2am. We also drove to random waterfalls to take a break in between driving from place to place.

Can you tell us where to party there?

I'm not really a party person, but if I were to pick a place it would be a winter party in the Blue Lagoon!

What are some places that you love around the world?

Iceland is on the top of my list of favourite places in the world. However, I also really like Cappodocia, for the breathtakingly picturesque hot air balloon rides.

What's next on your list to visit?

Portland. I have heard so much about the place. Then New York or San Francisco, or maybe both. I just want to go to a big city and soak in the urban madness.

What are some of your must do's when you travel?

Take loads of photos! And eat like a local.

What are your 5 travel essentials?

  1. My international adaptor with my extension 6 way multi-pin plug
  2. My cameras - gopro / canon 650 D / Lumix GX 1 and chargers for my cameras
  3. My straightener
  4. My hairdryer
  5. My makeup - Loose powder / SPF / lipstick / eyeliner / eyebrow pencil

Have you ever stayed in any vacation rentals on any of your trips?

Yes, I stayed at a few apartments in Europe and they were amazing. We usually book the whole place and it is really worth the money, compared to hotels in the same area. On my next trip, I would love to rent a loft in New York City.

If there was one designer's vacation home you would like to live in for a week, whose would it be?

I would want to stay in Jennifer's (@amerrymishap) home in Iceland. I really like her minimalist style and would love to see how she did up all her rooms.
