City guide: Miami, Florida

We follow Sarah Calogero to Miami, where the Milan/New York transplant has recently put down roots. Sarah spent many summers in Miami, where her family had a vacation home. Just a year ago, her husband's job brought them back to Miami, so you can say she's come full circle. She shares with us what she loves about this sunny, sexy city.

Don't you miss the brunches? Where are your favourite brunch places in Miami?

Absolutely I miss the brunches in New York, but Miami has it's lovely spots too!

In south Beach, I go to Barceloneta for great tapas, and The Local House for a beachy vibe and fresh seafood. They also have the regular brunch classics, for those who prefer that.

In Wynwood, which is an artsy neighbourhood that reminds me of New York's East Village, I love Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, which is a restaurant set in an art park called Wynwood Walls. Be prepared for a feast for the senses, as the space is adorned with art by famous international artists.

Another favourite of mine is a Japanese-Peruvia fusion restaurant called Suviche, that focuses on tasty and creative, yet healthy meals.

Juvia is very romantic, has super good food, and a breathtaking view.

Timo is a Bal Harbour favourite of mine.

Taco Beach Shack in Hollywood for tacos tacos tacos, and even Nutella tacos!

Riviera Focacceria Ligure has the best focaccia in town, but of course it's not only good for that. It's a taste of my home, in Miami.

You managed a boutique in NY. Now that you have moved to Miami, have you found some boutiques that you love?

The Webster, a multi-label boutique, is a perennial favorite for me. there are others in Coral Gables but most of the stores are located inside malls and are often the usual suspects. Nothing like Muleh (the store I managed in New York).

Where are the best places for a drink on a Friday night in Miami?

The Vagabond Hotel brings back a little Miami-retro, The Broken Shaker is a pop-up bar at the Indian Creek Hotel, and Lido at The Standard for drinks right by the water at dusk. These are my favorite spots - good vibes, great cocktails and different ways to bring Miami's style to life.

For a girls' night out in Miami, I would recommend Rose Bar at the Delano or Sea Salt & Pepper.

Miami is warm! How do you keep stylish in the heat?

Be wet all the time, a daily shower and a daily swim...with a bit of work out. Do not apply body lotion, use waterproof mascara. Go for baggy and oversized dresses to keep you cool. When in need for cold, just walk into one of the many shops and boutiques. For the AC, of course.
