The Roomorama Renter’s Guide Part II: Getting The Show On The Road

Too much paperwork

In Part I of our series, we told you all about setting up your Roomorama Rental.  In Part II, we’re going to tell you how to market it.  Fortunately, Roomorama takes care of most of the maintenance for you, so we’re focusing on the creation of the post itself.

Most travelers want a combination of good location, decent pricing, and sizeable accommodations, so when posting, be sure to be AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE about them.

Location

  • Avoid being vague; list specific details about your neighborhood and be as exacting as possible.  Include proximity to public transportation (list meters or blocks, not “close too” or “nearby”), hospitals, movie theaters, venues, popular restaurants, etc.
  • Be selective.  No one wants a laundry list.  Mention only the best of what you can offer.

Price

  • All travelers have a budget, big or small.  Make sure that your rates are fair and competitive, and that you are VERY clear about your fees.  Being elusive causes confusion for the customer and will deter them from using one of your rentals in the future.

Size

  • Again, be specific.  State the maximum number of guests possible in each residence and note whether or not it is a share.  Try to explain exactly how the apartment is set up, and list specific dimensions if helpful.

Lastly, the traveler is going to have specific dates that he or she wishes to visit, even up to the last minute.  Try to keep your calendar as up-to-date as possible in order to maximize your bookings.

Why Short Term Rentals with Roomorama?

Everyone does.  There’s no reason to be ashamed, so c’mon, just admit it:  You’ve had at least one terrible hotel stay.  We’re not saying it was like this, or even this, but needless to say you’d rather not relive it. Enter ROOMORAMA for short term apartment and home rentals.  Whether it’s the people, the price, or the neighborhood, we’ve got what you want, and chances are it’s better than a hotel.

Price

First of all, our prices are way more flexible than, say, the fixed rates of a hotel’s during peak season.  There’s also a greater variety of rooms to choose from, making it more likely that you’ll get a better return on your investment.

Location

Then there’s the neighborhood.  Most of the time hotels are situated where it makes the most financial sense for them.  To get a decent price, you’re going to have to choose between space and location. Here at ROOMORAMA, we don’t believe these things are mutually exclusive.  With our extensive short-term rental listings, you can be ultra-specific with your location AND have sizeable accommodations –something that hotels notoriously don’t do.

Mobility

We take care of the annoying stuff. There isn’t a line at checkout and you don’t need to talk to the front desk. If you choose, your user experience is limited to a few clicks online, nothing else.

The People

That being said, if you (and, of course, your host) concede, short-term rentals with ROOMORAMA are a great opportunity to a) meet people in the know who can b) offer a uniquely familiar perspective that a hotel concierge never could.

Our Priority Is You

Last, and maybe most importantly, is that we’ve made it our priority to protect you.  Did you think your accommodations were supposed to be this and they ended up being this, but you had an infamously non-refundable deposit down and the person at the front desk says that blah blah blah and now you’re stuck? That doesn’t happen at ROOMORAMA. All of our listings are accompanied by photos of that property only –no misleading hotel model rooms here, thank you. Even so, if you show up and the accommodations are, erhm, just not right, you don’t have to give your host their payment code, and we will help set you up at a more acceptable location, no questions asked.

See, now wasn’t that easy?
