The Caribbean island, Curaçao, has blessed the world with possibly the most amazing dessert ever. Ko’i Lechi, or milk sweets, are a mixture of milk and sugar with a hint of vanilla and almond. These delightful little treats have been officially stamped with Roomorama approval! Want to try this Caribbean dessert? Ko’i Lechi Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup powdered milk
2 cups icing sugar
5 oz. condensed milk
1 tablespoon vanilla essence
1 tablespoon almond essence
2 tablespoons water
1 pinch of salt
A big bowl
Your hands
Imagination
Directions: Mix everything in a big bowl using your hands. If it’s too powdery, add a little water (it will stick to your hands a little). After it turns into a paste, take little pieces and use your imagination to mold these into all kinds of shapes. Get the kids to do this part and you’ll have a fun activity and a great snack. Enjoy!
